Last week I visited the SAHA EXHIBITION in Istanbul.
What impressed me most was not simply the scale of the exhibition, but the speed at which a complete industrial and technology ecosystem has evolved in Türkiye over the last decade.
Security today is no longer only about defense. It is about technological capability, resilient industry, advanced manufacturing, software, energy systems, cyber infrastructure, mobility, and the ability of nations to innovate rapidly together with startups, universities, SMEs and global partners.
Türkiye has developed remarkable competencies in many of these areas and has become an increasingly important player with a fast-growing ecosystem, strong engineering talent and entrepreneurial energy.
It was also encouraging to see how companies from many sectors — including industrial technology leaders such as Siemens contribute to this broader transformation through digitalization, automation and infrastructure technologies.
I believe the real message of SAHA 2026 is not only capability, but confidence: the confidence of a country building its own industrial future with growing technological depth and global relevance.
