A significant amount of the well known diseases in our society can be cured through early diagnosis and by taking early preventive measures. However, early prevention and detection is not limited with periodic checkups; it also requires the physician to analyze Family related health problems. In the situation where a family has a track record of a certain disease, an early detection – in particular at a young age – is imperative. Unfortunately, who can remember health problems of our Grandparents or ancestors? It has never crossed the minds of those who had knew of it, that by documenting and passing it to the next generation may save the lives of their children and grandchildren in the future. Today we are able to detect and prevent many known diseases (for example ‘Alzheimer’) through carrying out various laboratory tests, imaging, or by tracing reliable medical records of our Family members in addition to genetic tests1. For this reason we should retain all family health records, document it and pass it to the next generation. ”It might save their lives”.
