Opera Singer Mete Uğur pride of the Turkish Opera dies at age 79. The man with a generous heard and beautiful voice was one of the most gifted bel canto singers of his generation in Turkey. Mete Uğur was famous and respected for his performance in the more difficult Opera’s – in and outside Turkey. For 15 years he was an influential Jury member of the Siemens Opera event and helped nurture many young Opera singers, now successful around the world. As the Turkish Opera looses one of it greatest artists, we at Siemens are loosing a great friend.
It should be remembered that only 2 days after the death anniversary of Luciano Pavarotti (died on September the 6th, 2007) the Opera world loses another great star.
