I am in Paris walking through the aisles of the Louvre, looking at masterpieces prior to the 20 century. Many visitors are rushing from one place to another. They are taking a quick image of a painting and sending it to a friend via a mobile device ( sharing a moment).

I cannot help myself to think:
Most of this art, compared with those of the present time, are out of a time, when artists worked with complete focus; without allowing their mobile device to break their time of thought

Do we not need take our time to focus before sharing the incomplete? I believe this is worth to think of…

Between the quick lines ! https://gelis.org/en/2013/06/20/between-the-quick-lines/ https://gelis.org/en/2013/06/20/between-the-quick-lines/#respond Thu, 20 Jun 2013 11:44:36 +0000 https://gelis.org/?p=654 As the original texts are written in Turkish, English translation is provided for non-Turkish readers. Never before in the history of humans, did the common man document and publish his thoughts and opinions as much as is done today.

We are living in a time where posting aphorisms and sharing them with the world via Internet and social media, is no longer a privilege amongst a small group. We are able to quickly express our thoughts; the emphasis being quick sharing, between all the other tasks and actions that occur in our daily lives.

In one hundred years, we will have a vast amount of thoughts coming from all levels of the society which will better enable us to analyze a period of our history.

For this reason, between the quick lines, we should not neglect the quality of messages being sent and passed on to the next generation.
